Background/Bio: Resume of Sorts
Web developer, project manager, hopeful real estate mogul, and avid snowboarder; also Founding member of YourWebTeam, a full service digital marketing agency. With over 7 years of project management and web application development experience in a variety of industries including travel, finance, health care and education. I have a passion for taking real world problems and simplifying them through automation. Though I enjoy writing and reusing code, I’m also looking for the most efficient way to get the job done, on time and without compromising reliability!
Born in the US, I spent some 20+ years growing up and being educated in the UK, returned to the States after graduating University with an Honors degree in Manufacturing Engineering only after leaving my mark behind.
For my University thesis I proved that some simple imaging technology, and 5,000 lines of C could accurately and reliably inspect reflective surfaces using Photometric Stereo principles in-line with high speed manufacturing technologies. Other achievements include working on the rear steering and suspension mechanism for ThrustSSC, the world land speed record holder and boasting to have my initials travel at 763.04 miles per hour across Black Rock Desert in Nevada (1997) – What a rush!! Other greats included working with one of the first 5 axis CNS milling machines in the UK to create master tools for the US Military, British Aerospace and Morgan cars. All that before discovering what the Web can do for business to grow and automate their processes.
Having returned to the US, I has enjoyed much success in the Web and IT industry, from working on trading floors to medical offices to Human Recourses and digital marketing.
Soon after arriving in the US I found myself on the trading floor of Warburg Dillion Read developing web based tools to accurately capture trade data for analysis, Customer Relations Management and trader commissions. These tools gave traders and their managers essential information on their performance and that of their clients that enabled them to better track their market moves and offer them a more personal service that accurately met their clients portfolios.
From there I went on to assist a group of small medical offices with their IT infrastructure needs and to automate there medical records on a secure shared intranet. This helped them prepare for the new HEPA directives.
By now I was brimming with ideas and the passion to further my skills and experience, so I moved to the technology capital of Boston where I found myself working on projects from eCommerce, to job posting management, production fulfillment integrating and integrating web front ends with legacy systems.
Most recently I have focused on using the web as a marketing medium, creating dynamic sites for delivering information on products and services to the customers fingertips. To fully leverage the web in this way, many technologies and skill sets need to come together in one seamless system, including Search Engine Optimization, usability, data integration, Content Management and Project Management.
